Waiting for the Ban Hammer

The Standard format is in a tight bind right now. With a lot of the ‘pros’ clamoring for another set of bans. The new target(s)? Felidar Guardian and possibly Gideon, Ally of Zendikar or maybe even Heart of Kiran. This they say would allow other builds to flourish and creativity rewarded. If I am correct, this was the same tune when the ‘pros’ were clamoring to ban the Smuggler’s Copter and Emrakul, the Promised End, look where those bans took us!

In my opinion it’s not about the cards being OP and unfair to play with. It’s more about the players just whining and making absurd demands instead of trying to find ways to answer the problem! I think the influx of players from the Millennial generation coming into Magic has taken its peak and now we are experiencing what the real world is facing with this generation. Too much demand and the feeling of entitlement!

“I play Magic and I am a Pro and I say I have the right to demand that this ‘so and so’ get banned so I can play the deck that I want!” – This is right now what I see happening with the Pros nowadays, too much whining and little deck building! These pros have perfected the art of net decking! and now they complain everyone is using the same deck, day in and day out? This makes me laugh!

I can’t complain; I’m one of these net deckers. Half of the time I lose to a net deck as well. However I also lose to other fringe decks that otherwise would not have any chance to a tier 1 deck. This is not about the decks but the players who pilots them! How about we ban those ‘Pros’ instead?

Just a thought!
